Morgan's Point Conservation Area
Morgan's Point Conservation area is located in Wainfleet, Ontario along the shores of Lake Erie. It is one of a few public access points along the lake. Originally a small farming community, Morgan's Point was home to several United Empire Loyalist families. The cemetery at Morgan's Point attests to the fact that by the mid 1800's the community of Morgan's Point was well established.
Tall savanah grasses and rocky shoal outcrops make Morgan's Point Conservation Area an excellent destination for birdwatching or hiking. Butterflies congregate in the meadows along the lake in the fall waiting for the right moment for the wind to carry them to their winter destination in Mexico. Well marked trails encourage hikers to leave as little impact on this environmentally sensitive area as possible.
